Diablo II: Resurrected — Where to Go & What to Expect
Show:
Stage:
🏰
Countess Run
Act I — Forgotten Tower, Black Marsh
Any Difficulty
Rune FarmingBeginner FriendlyMF Not Needed
⏱ Run Time: 3–5 min
📍 Waypoint: Black Marsh
👤 Gear Req: Very Low
The Countess has two separate drop tables — a Normal boss table and a special rune-only table. She drops 1–6 runes per kill, almost guaranteed. The best early rune farm in the game for building your first runewords.

🗺️ Navigation tip: Once inside the tower, keep the wall on your left at all times. When you reach a corner, turn left. When you hit a dead end, turn left. The stairs down to the next floor are always found by following the left wall — this holds true on all five floors without exception.

Mephisto Run
Act III — Durance of Hate, Level 3
NM / Hell
Gear & UniquesBoss KillMF Helps
⏱ Run Time: 2–4 min
📍 Waypoint: Durance of Hate L2
👤 Gear Req: Low–Medium
The best early-to-mid endgame gear farm. Excellent unique and set item drop pool, quick to reach, and safely farmable with the Moat Trick. NM Mephisto is the transition point between Normal and Hell for most builds.

The Pit
Act I — Tamoe Highland (cave)
Hell Only
Gear & UniquesBeginner FriendlyMF Helps
⏱ Run Time: 5–10 min
📍 Waypoint: Black Marsh
👤 Gear Req: Low
Area Level 85 — every item in the game can drop here. Enemies are weaker than most other high-level zones. The most beginner-friendly true endgame farm. Great for builds without Teleport.

Lower Kurast Super Chests
Act III — Lower Kurast
NM / Hell
Rune FarmingBeginner FriendlyMF Not Needed
⏱ Run Time: 1–3 min
📍 Waypoint: Lower Kurast
👤 Gear Req: None
Super Chests near bonfires drop runes up to Ber with no gear requirements. Magic Find has zero effect — gear for speed, not MF. Any class can run this efficiently.

🗺️ Navigation tip: Take the Lower Kurast waypoint — the super chests are right nearby. Look for a campfire surrounded by a ring of torches. There are three super chests in the huts immediately to the upper-left and upper-right of that bonfire. They look identical to regular chests, so the campfire ring is your landmark. Maps can have up to two bonfires, each with its own set of three chests — clear both if present. Pro tip: Save and exit to Act IV rather than Act III — the Act IV town spawn puts you closer to the waypoint for faster resets.

Diablo Run
Act IV — Chaos Sanctuary, River of Flame
NM / Hell
ExperienceGear & UniquesChallenging
⏱ Run Time: 5–15 min
📍 Waypoint: River of Flame
👤 Gear Req: Medium–High
Ends with a Diablo kill across three wings of sealed areas. On Hell, Area Level 85 means every item in the game can drop — excellent for both leveling (75–85) and gear. On Nightmare, monster level is lower but Diablo drops useful mid-tier transition gear and is a relatively quick run once you know the layout. Dangerous on both difficulties — Oblivion Knights cast Iron Maiden which can instantly kill melee players.

Baal Runs
Act V — Worldstone Keep
Hell Only
ExperienceBoss KillChallenging
⏱ Run Time: 10–20 min
📍 Waypoint: Worldstone Keep L2
👤 Gear Req: Medium–High
The definitive endgame experience farm. Best XP per kill in the game. Most players run Baal from level 85 all the way to 99. Join multiplayer "Baal run" games for maximum efficiency.

Travincal Council
Act III — Travincal
Hell Only
Rune FarmingGear & UniquesBoss Kill
⏱ Run Time: 2–4 min
📍 Waypoint: Travincal
👤 Gear Req: Medium
11 Council Members with elevated rune drop rates. Can drop runes up to Cham. Most are fire immune, but two have additional immunities — check the loot panel before committing your build. Physical and cold builds generally handle the full council most reliably.

🗺️ Navigation tip: The Travincal waypoint drops you directly into the area — the Council is already visible from spawn. Exit the waypoint and the cluster of Council Members is straight ahead in the center of the area around the compelling orb. There's no navigation required; the entire run takes place within a single small zone. Clear, collect, and reset.

Secret Cow Level
Hidden area — unlocked via Horadric Cube
NM / Hell
ExperienceRunesGear & Uniques
⏱ Run Time: 10–20 min
📍 Access: Rogue Encampment portal
👤 Gear Req: Medium
Massive monster density, zero immunities. Great for any build. In D2R, the old restriction that prevented reopening the portal after killing the Cow King has been removed — kill freely. Top source of socketable ethereal item bases.

🗺️ Navigation tip: To open the portal, place Wirt's Leg and a Tome of Town Portal in the Horadric Cube and transmute — but only while standing in the Rogue Encampment (Act I town). Wirt's Leg is found on the ground in Tristram, accessible via the Cairn Stones portal in Stony Field. The red portal spawns near the Act I stash. Inside, the level is one large open area — the Cow King spawns somewhere in the herd. You don't need to kill him, but in D2R you can without locking yourself out of future portals.

Andariel Run
Act I — Catacombs, Level 4
NM / Hell
Gear & UniquesBoss KillBeginner FriendlyMF Helps
⏱ Run Time: 2–5 min
📍 Waypoint: Catacombs L2
👤 Gear Req: Low
Andariel has a hidden loot bias toward rings and amulets, making NM Andariel the single best Stone of Jordan farm in the game. She's weak to fire — any fire build melts her quickly. Hell Andariel adds Shako and Gheed's Fortune to the pool and drops the Twisted Essence of Suffering for the Token of Absolution respec system.

💊 Survival tip: Carry Antidote Potions — her poison attacks are her main threat. Stacking 3–5 at once gives +50% poison resistance for 150 seconds.

🗺️ Navigation tip:

🐛 Drop table note: In classic D2, Andariel had an improved drop table that activated after completing Act 1. D2R made backend changes to boss drop tables — if you notice she's dropping mostly gold, try leaving and rejoining the game.

Pindleskin Run
Act V — Nihlathak's Temple
Hell Only
Gear & UniquesBoss KillMF Helps
⏱ Run Time: <30 sec
📍 Waypoint: Anya's Red Portal
👤 Gear Req: Medium
The fastest boss farm in the game — under 30 seconds per run. Area Level 86, full item pool. Access via Anya's red portal in Harrogath after completing her rescue quest. ⚠️ Do NOT activate the Halls of Pain waypoint — it permanently replaces Anya's portal for that game session.

🗺️ Navigation tip: Anya's portal is in Harrogath next to her position near the stash — it's a permanent red portal that persists across games once her quest is complete. Step through and Pindleskin is immediately visible with his pack of Returned undead at the entrance. The run is literally: enter portal, kill pack, loot, town portal back, reset game. No navigation required inside.

💡 Tip: Clear Pindleskin's Returned undead minions before looting — they drop items independently and are part of the run's total loot. Don't leave them alive and skip them.

Nihlathak Run
Act V — Halls of Vaught
Hell Only
Gear & UniquesBoss KillChallengingMF Helps
⏱ Run Time: 3–6 min
📍 Waypoint: Halls of Pain
👤 Gear Req: Medium–High
Monster Level 95 — the same drop potential as Baal, but faster to reach. Primary target farm for the Key of Destruction. ⚠️ Nihlathak's Corpse Explosion can one-shot even well-geared characters. Equip a Nature's Peace ring before this run — it disables his Corpse Explosion entirely.

🗺️ Navigation tip:

💡 No Nature's Peace? Walk two and a half screens away from Nihlathak and wait 8 seconds — corpses despawn and he loses his ammunition.

The Summoner Run
Act II — Arcane Sanctuary
Hell Only
Gear & UniquesRune FarmingBeginner Friendly
⏱ Run Time: 3–5 min
📍 Waypoint: Arcane Sanctuary
👤 Gear Req: Low–Medium
Primarily farmed for the Key of Hate. The bonus: Arcane Sanctuary Specters have a jewelry-biased loot table (rings, amulets, charms, and runes — no weapon or armor bases). Dead-end branches contain super chests that drop runes up to Vex. Clear all four branches before killing the Summoner.

🗺️ Navigation tip: The waypoint is in the center hub. Four branches extend North, South, East, and West — the Summoner is at the end of one and is fully random each game. There's no reliable tell. With Teleport you can scout branches quickly; without it, pick a direction and commit.

⚠️ Critical tip: Do not kill Specters while they are standing over the dark void — items drop into the abyss and are permanently lost. Lure them back onto solid platform before killing them.
